On Tuesday, July 28, 2015, the Chicago Presbytery Coordinating Commission (PCC) voted unanimously to hire the Rev. Dr. Deborah A. Rundlett as Transitional Executive Presbyter. Her two-year term will commence on October 15 of this year.
Rev. Rundlett comes to Chicago Presbytery with extensive experience in parish and presbytery leadership and brings a variety of creative and visionary tools to apply to our current transitional journey. She has served for the past nine years as the General Presbyter for the Muskingum Valley Presbytery in Ohio. She has served parishes in San Diego, California, and Port Chester, New York. She was also the Associate Pastor to the Pittsburgh Presbytery. In addition, she was an Adjunct Professor/Professional Fellow at the Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio.

Rundlett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sweet Briar College, Sweet Briar, Virginia; a Masters of Divinity degree from the Yale University Divinity School, New Haven, Connecticut; a Doctor of Ministry degree from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C.; and a Master of Organizational Development from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
She is married to Dick Greenwood, and Deborah and Dick have one daughter, Elizabeth.
Though her term does not begin until October, she will be present at the September assembly meeting to be introduced to the Presbytery of Chicago, and to greet us personally.
The PCC expressed its deep appreciation for the Transitional Executive Presbyter Search Committee: Ruling Elder Jodi Craiglow, moderator; Ruling Elder Argie Johnson, Rev. Ann O. Johnson, Rev. Adam Malak and Rev. Shawna Bowman and Commissioned Local Pastor Julio Peņa.
In addition, gratitude was also expressed to the members of the POC staff who provided valuable assistance during the search; and to the Rev. Sara Dingman, Transitional Synod Executive, for providing staff support for the committee.
Faithfully,
Rev. Michael Youngblood, Moderator
